A wonderful large 17th. century wrought iron treasure chest, "ARMADA BOX" w/original key.  Made entirely of hand wrought iron straps w/an internal lock mechanism mounted on the under-side of the lid working independent bolts w/a single key inserted through the top of the lid.  Each side of the chest has large lifting handles.  The front of the chest has a painted crest of the two headed eagle which may symbolize Imperial Austria or the Hapsburg Family.  The lock is in good working order.  A rare REAL treasure chest...

Please note;  The original lock escutcheon plate that would cover the bolts is missing.  The two front hasp rings are detatched.
