An Antique American "Blanket Gun" Percussion Kentucky Rifle, circa. 1820-1840, originally a flintlock then converted to percussion. Heavy 15.75" .45 cal. octagon barrel w/multiple site placements. Lock w/remnants of engraved hunting scene(now pitted). Set triggers. Brass furniture w/patch box(lower brass edge missing). Remnants of old paper lable on wrist. Stock is solid w/sliver loses to both sides of the fore-end, scratches and dings from years of handling. In good working order. 32" overall length.
Note; It is our opinion that this rifle's barrel may be older than the present stock and was most likely much longer and reduced during it's working life... Consignment; H.F. 2009 |
