A Massive Fine and Rare Antique Late 17th. Century Brass Barrel Flintlock Musketoon/Blunderbuss, c. 1680-1690.  Massive 26.5" round brass barrel w/reinforcn ring at the flared belled muzzel, stamped w/(2) early London PROOF marks and an indistinct barrelsmith's mark on the left side of the breech with ramp cut to form the back-sight at the rear, plain iron tang w/securing tang screw from beneath.  Early banna shapped plain rounded lock.  Solid original beech full stock w/minor wood worm holes in butt(repaired), scratches and dings from years of service, w/pronounced moulding on the fore-end, around the lock, and side-plate(fantastic early pierced dragonesque form w/ looped tail).  All furniture is of brass, butt plate w/pronounced swelling heel and long tapering tang with monster-head terminal, trigger-guard w/rounded pointed finials, single turned brass ramrod-pipe, and original brass tipped wooden ramrod.  42" overall length.  In good working order.  A fantastic Musketoon !!!!!!!!
