REFERENCE ONLY. (SOLD or NOT FOR SALE) A Fine Cased (PAIR) of English Silver Mounted Box-Lock Flint Pistols by; GRIFFIN, LONDON, circa. 1765-1770. 5.3/8" .577 cal. (regulation), round steel 4-stage cannon turn-off barrels. Box-Lock action w/top mounted sliding safty and the side panels engraved; "GRIFFIN", "LONDON". The underside of breech is stamped w/(2) PROOF marks; oval "CROWN" over "GP"(gun makers proof), and "CROWN" over "V" (viewed). Both stocks are near perfect w/minor handling dings and are mounted with Silver wrist escutcheons and Silver grotesque butt masks. In perfect working order. An exceptional cased set... Original Period Box measures; 16" X 8" X 2.5", Pistols measure; 12" overall length. Accessories include; Rare Moroccan Red Leather covered 3-way powder flask, Bullet Mold, Cleaning Rod, Tow, Balls, Wads, and Turn Screw.
